About The Seed
The Seed is an early childhood educational program, founded in 1980, which responds to families' needs by providing full day care and education for young children.

Children are like tender seeds. They need continuous, loving care to grow and blossom.

The Seed is the child's home away from home." We strive to provide a warm, cozy environment while engaged in a variety of stimulating, age-appropriate learning activities. Special attention is given to each child's needs and interests as well as emotional and social development.

Our Programs
Toddler Time (18 months-3 years)
Safe environment for young explorers
Your toddler loves to learn by moving and doing. The Seed toddler program provides just the right environment for independent exploration while paying special attention to health and safety. Children can run, ride a trike, climb and discover the wonders of the natural world beneath shady trees in our beautiful outdoor play space.
Just right activities
Your toddler loves to sort, pour, create, dress up, play and move, move, move. These activities enhance individuality, problem-solving, self-regulation, engagement and tolerance to frustration. Who knew learning and growing was so much fun?
It’s all about making friends
People love people and even very little people are interested in each other. Making friends is the cornerstone of social development but most of all friends make all the difference. The Seed encourages toddlers to play together in a rich and fun-filled environment that supports their emerging social awareness.
Language is the key
From the first loving greeting in the morning to the goodnight farewell, the Seed teachers ensure that your toddler is immersed in a language-rich environment. Being surrounded by meaningful language through stories, play, new vocabulary, interactions and encouragement is crucial to the development of speech and communication skills.
Perfect playthings
Your toddler’s world expands through hands-on play and sensory experiences. The Seed children have access to a wide variety of age-appropriate books, musical instruments, toys, puzzles, manipulative and art supplies. There are also rotating activity centers which include sensory, dramatic play, art, table toys, library and discovery.
Relationships
A low ratio of toddlers to teachers is vital to young children. Not only do they receive more individual attention and benefit from a higher level of safety, but their overall development is enhanced through close, positive and nurturing relationships. Our stable toddler team provides a consistent primary caregiving relationship that forms the foundation on which they build future relationships.

Pre-schoolers (3-4 years old)

Preschool at the Seed
Your child learns through active play. As they interact with peers and materials, making connections, identifying problems and testing theories, children lay the foundations for further learning.
At the Seed, your child is encouraged to follow their curiosity, ask questions, explore how things work and engage in many different activities. Through trial and error your child learns persistence—to keep at it and ask for help when needed.
Strong bodies build strong minds. At The Seed we pay attention to your child’s physical development and fitness. Each day offers multiple opportunities for gross motor play, including climbing, catching, running, pedaling a tricycle, pumping on the swings, dancing and tumbling.
“Safety first” is a phrase you will hear often from your young child. What do you need to do to keep yourself safe and healthy?
In this increasingly globalized and shrinking world, ensuring the healthy social and emotional development of preschoolers is now more critical than ever. Preschool children must learn to be aware of and comfortable with themselves and others and to recognize and manage their emotions. This social development has been shown to be fundamental to success in school and later life.
At The Seed, your preschooler will be introduced to math, science, emergent literacy, art, and physical education by rotating through learning centers. The teachers of each center prepare lesson plans and provide open-ended activities that support the lessons.
And most important of all, your preschooler will find a nurturing
environment full of love and fun!
Pre-kindergarten (4 years old)

Pre-K at The Seed

Engagement, creativity, imagination, curiosity, initiative and persistence are all important skills your young child is in the process of developing.

The Seed fosters these skills, providing the foundations your child will need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

Social and emotional development are critical to school success. Seed Pre-K students develop these social skills throughout the day by strengthening self-awareness and practicing self-regulation.

Making friends and negotiating the social environment is pivotal to building strong relationships. Your child will learn the importance of routines and help create the classroom rules essential to group work and play. By learning to transition and adapt to change, your child will prepare for life in an ever changing world.

Emergent literacy is all about communication. In Pre-K, your child will use language in its myriad forms, talking, listening, writing, reading and responding to literature. Early literacy has so many components which, when combined together, create a solid foundation for future success in reading, writing, and all areas of communication. Spanish language instruction introduces children to the idea that they are members of a globalized society.

Your young child learns at an astounding rate. In math, everyday counting and correspondence activities pave the way for the more abstract processes of mathematical thinking. Learning to think like a scientist will support your child’s innate ability to ask endless questions. In Pre-K, your child will explore the world by questioning, predicting, experimenting and collecting information.

At The Seed, your Pre-K child will have many opportunities to get fit and create healthy habits. Health and safety top our list of priorities and your child will tell you about all the ways to grow strong and stay healthy. Strong bodies support strong minds.

As your child develops a basic awareness of self, her whole environment takes on new meaning. In Pre-K your child will explore the world through his identity as a member of a family, culture, community, and country. By sharing with classmates, the rich mosaic of diversity sets the foundation to become citizens of the world.

Art, music, dance, are all aspects of the hundred languages of children. What better way for your Pre-K child to express herself than through the arts. The Seed supports and encourages young artists to explore a variety of different media.

The Pre-K year is an important year for your child. You can make it the best year ever by enrolling him or her in our Pre-K program.
